The 2.4GHz band offers key advantages for smart home devices like robot vacuums:
- Wider coverage: It has a longer effective range and better ability to penetrate walls, ensuring stable connectivity even when the robot moves to different rooms or areas with obstacles.
- Reliable low-bandwidth communication: Controlling the robot (e.g., starting/stopping cleaning, receiving status updates) requires only small data transfers, and 2.4GHz provides consistent performance for such low-bandwidth needs.
